In 1948, the United States issued the first experimental version of what would eventually become the legendary M9 Series Field Protective Mask. Easily identified due to the oversized "nose" created by molded-in airflow deflector channels. The popular design would eventually be copied by nations all over the world, spawning very similar designs such as the Finnish M61 as well as this Hungarian Gas Mask you see here.
