In the ever-changing battlefield of the late 20th and early 21st century, American military forces needed a precision rifle that was flexible enough to meet the shifting demands of urban counter insurgent warfare. When paired with its match grade barrel and free float RIS handguard the SR25 became a formidable and flexible rifle that is capable of being fielded in vast expanses of open space, or in the close confines of today's urban battlefield.
