About Ultimate Knife

The Ultimate Knife is a versatile utility and defense knife that was born out of a passion for self-preservation and the belief in the right to protect oneself. The founder, Lad Mandiola, embarked on a journey to provide people with the knowledge, skills, and tools to protect themselves. Initially offering personal protection products like security cameras and flashlights, Lad wanted to add knives to his lineup. He came across a folding Fox Karambit knife with a unique opening feature and was intrigued. After extensive research, Lad discovered that the Karambit knife was originally developed for the Italian Special Forces and decided to offer it as part of his tactical lineup. However, customers found the knives too large for their hands, prompting Lad to redesign them. With his background in graphic design, Lad created the 599 Karambit and DART Tanto Karambit knives, which were lighter, smaller, and better suited for most adult hands. These knives, along with their ICD trainers, became the ultimate Close Quarter Combative (CQC) knives.
